Course Description:
The course includes the concepts and terminology of software and skills related to creating web pages. The class uses the MacroMedia Studio software, mainly Dreamweaver and Fireworks to develop web pages and graphics. Photo editing software will be used as well. Students will enhance their web design abilities by creating custom logos and graphics, develop pages with a more professional design, and focus on creating pages based on the needs of clients.

Course Objectives/Goals

Students will demonstrate the basic principles of Web Design.
Students will demonstrate an advanced understanding of design principles.
Students will use digital cameras and software to take and manipulate digital images.
Students will use Macromedia Dreamweaver to create web pages.
Students will design pages from scenarios on handouts.
Students will design original web pages based on a Requirements Document.
Students will use presentation and multimedia software to design, create, import data/graphics/scanned images/sound/video, edit, format, sequence, and produce presentations.
Students will use sound web design principles and web page software to create and modify web sites for individuals and organizations.

4. Advanced Dreamweaver concepts
5. Advanced design concepts
6. Advanced imaging/photography concepts
7. Graphic Design using Fireworks and Flash

Teaching Methods
The course is taught through lecture, readings, group work, presentations and discussion of concepts and current computer news items. Students apply the concepts on the computer while doing problems and exercises.
