Rehearsals outside of class will be necessary 2. Medieval Faire - Study the instruments used in the Medieval Period and how they evolved into the instruments of today - Rehearse and perform music of the Medieval Period to perform at the Medieval Faire

Teach English IV some basic dances of the Medieval Period 3. Christmas Concert

Rehearse music to be performed at the Christmas concert. 4. IMEA - Selected students will have the opportunity to audition for the Illinois Music Educators Association Festival, which is held on the second Saturday in November.

Students auditioning will be given the materials needed and prepare as necessary. 5. Stage Band

Students will rehearse music to be performed at the home basketball games. Rehearsals outside of class time will be necessary. 6. Solo and Ensemble

Students will have the opportunity to participate in Solo and Ensemble contest, which is held the first Saturday in March. Solo and Ensemble contest provides the students with the opportunity to perform as a soloist or in a small group with independent parts. It also provides the students with outside feedback regarding their musical performance. 7. Spring Concert

Students will rehearse and perform music appropriate for the Spring Concert 8. Other honor band festivals - Student’s have the opportunity to perform in many honor band festivals. Most of these occur after Christmas break. These festivals include the Bi-State Honor band at SIU Edwardsville, the Heartland Honor Band at SIU Carbondale, and the Five Star Honor Band.
